Aromatic hydrocarbons, organic solvents and amines are among the most important groups of substances in the chemical industry. Aromatics such as benzene (C6H6), toluene (C7H8) and xylene (C8H10) have a stable ring structure and are frequently used as high-performance solvents or chemical intermediates.
Organic solvents possess high solubility and are used, amongst other things, in coatings, adhesives and chemical synthesis processes. Amines are nitrogen-containing organic compounds with basic properties and are used, for example, as intermediates, catalysts or additives in chemical production. The handling of these media places high demands on leak-tightness, explosion protection, material selection and operational safety.
