Heat transfer oils are used in closed circuits for indirect heat transfer. They enable efficient and uniform temperature control at moderate pressures and are particularly suitable for high-temperature processes.

Typical applications include the chemical and petrochemical industries, polymer production, the food industry and thermal power plants. Compared with water-steam systems, heat transfer oils allow for higher operating temperatures at lower system pressures, thereby contributing to cost-effective and safe process control.
